About Us

Dr. Maia Chakerian is a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist and Pain Medicine specialist, who has been in practice since 1992. After completing an Anesthesiology residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, and a Pain Medicine fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle, she taught Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine. In 1994, she entered private practice in Los Gatos, California, and concentrates her energies on treating patients with chronic pain, and working with other researchers to search for better ways to treat those in pain.

Since 1993, Dr. Chakerian has directed and participated in numerous clinical trials, both as a faculty member of the Pain Center at the University of California San Diego Medical Center, and since 1994 as a private practitioner specializing in pain medicine in the San Francisco Bay Area.
